El Prieto (yes, again!) 3-28-03
we head over to El Prieto trail yet again (yes, it is just that great)... but this time, with an interesting twist. Because of unforseen circumstances (read, laggers!), we didn't actually get on the trail until about 5pm, but the sun sets at 6pm! So we ended up riding most of the downhill section in what began as "nearly dark" to "pitch black." It is NOT A GOOD SIGN when you can't distinguish between bushes, and rocks!

Isabel's pre-birthday dinner @ Maggiano's 3-27-03
SOOOOO full from Maggiano's (very similar to Buca di Beppos, but tastier/more expensive), where we had a kinda pre-birthday dinner for Isabel since the Berkleyians were down for the break. We ordered this sorta "set dinner" thing where you can pick any two items from each one of the 5 main catagories, and then you paid a fixed amount. And as it turns out, it was actually a buffet.... all you can eat! Not that it mattered much, since we only ate about 60% of what they brought out for us... hehe, if you ever go, you gotta try the Rigatoni 'D' and the canneloni with veal/mushrooms.....mmmmm.... makes me hungry just thinking about it.

Santa Catalina 3-25 and 3-26-03
Day 1: Took off from the Dana Point harbor at about 10am, and it was about an 80 minute ride over to the island.... so of course, I slept most of the way. First thing we did was check into Hotel Mac Rae.... then lunch, at Eric's on the pier (sucked and was friggin' expensive). After that, we went biking up into the hills along the south side of Avalon. The views were absolutely stunning and well worth the ride uphill. Afterwards, we took a short nap, and then had dinner at Cafe Prego. It was really cool at night too because there was absolutely NO ONE around. Out on the main street in town, we could only see about 10-15 other people walking around... ahhhh sometimes silence really is golden.

Day 2: We got up pretty early to go on a tour of the interior island, but because of the lack of visitors, we ended up getting a privately-guided tour since we were the only two to sign up. The tour was way cool and we got to see some spectacular views from the higher points on the island, including: the San Gabriel mountain range, which is over 150 miles away, Palos Verdes, and various other coastal cities/mountain ranges. We also visited their "Airport in the sky," which was built on the higher ranges of the mountain, so when you are there, it seems like you're floating in the sky because it's so high up. The tour also took us to see the bald eagles that they are trying to breed on the island. After the tour, we sat down on the pier and had a damn good bowl of clam chowder. Sitting there.... soaking up the sun.... I suddenly realized that this was probably the best part of the day. It's funny how sometimes we forget the simple things in life and for the most part, take so many things for granted... but at that moment, I took a second to appreciate everything I had...... and you know what? Life is good :-D

Reunion/BBQ/Victor's place 3-23-03
Had us a mini-Canyon High reunion with Howard and Kushan in town for the break. We had a bbq over at Suneet's, featuring beer-marinated steak.... mmmmm, tasty. Then over to Victor's pool house to throw back a few drinks, play ping-pong and just hang out. We had a great time just sitting around, catching up on new times, reminiscing about the old... talking about the future, etc. Unfortunately, there was also a fair amount of "wang-banging" due to the ones who had too much to drink.... now I won't go into the details, but let's just say it could be compared to homo-chicken, if it was turned into an extreme sport. Finished off the night with the usual Del Taco run at 3am 8-)

Mountain Biking on El Prieto Trail, San
Gabriel Mountains 3-22-03

We've come to the conclusion (after the 2nd time down), that this is by far and away the best trail yet. I really like it because all the "work" (uphill) is in the beginning, and then the reward (downhill) is all at the end. Add in the lush, shady forest-like setting in the downhill section, and it all combines for one helluva ride.

Car audio and SPP Intake install at Tambys 3-24-03
Helped Tamby install his car audio, and did my own cold air intake install in the BMW. So far I have noticed slightly better throttle response, and a much meaner engine harmony at high rpms.

Suprise Sayonara Party 3-21-03
Whoa, talk about being suprised.... I sauntered into fatty's apartment and all these people just came out of nowhere! It meant alot to me to be able to see everyone again.... reminds me of the good ole days in the dorms ;) A huge "thank you" to all my friends: especially Allen for organizing everything, Nancy for making that ultra cool poster, and everyone who showed up to wish me well. You guys are awesome and I will miss all of ya!

Stardust and FINALS...... ugh. 3-18-03
It's that time again.... yep that's right boys and girls rejoice! Grab your books and pencils, and let the studying begin. Finals are here!! Ugh. Halfway done and I am already outta gas. Something about sitting around for a week, looking at stupid numbers makes me feel unproductive and lazeeeeeeeeey..... must.... make ..... it..... 3 more..... days... gasp.... choke.... agrfff..... skjhfksdf.

And on a brighter note, while I was trying to run away from studying today, I typed my name into google.com and got linked to the NASA Stardust space program website. About five years ago, I submitted my name (along with approx. a million other people) so we could have our names "engraved" onto a tiny little microchip that was launched into space. Part of the capsule will come back, but the other part will drift forever in space.... until one day, when some intelligent life will pick it up and decode it (hopefully not us). And I thought this was all a joke back then hehe.... how cool is that?! =D

STUPID people sightings of the last two weeks 3-13-03
Event 1: A black guy sitting horizontally in the trunk of a brand new 350Z, with the hatch completely open, all the way UP in the air. It gets better though - the geniuses then decide it would be a good idea to get onto the freeway..... Good call!

Event 2: An asian girl who stopped her car in the middle of the goddamn entrance to lot 4 parking structure (the one by Anderson Business School). She was just chilling in there TALKING on her cell phone, utterly unaware that she was blocking the whole freakin' lane, making people go around her! Ahahahah it was hilarious... too bad I didn't have my camera.

Biking in Anaheim and Aaron/Alex 21st 3-8-03
We got on the trail about 1pm, and rode for about 2.5 hours through Anaheim Hills.... hitting the same old (but good) trails. When we got down to the Santiago Nature Center, we came to this rather large-looking "stream" that suneet attempts to ford... but gets stuck somewhere in the middle hehe. By the time we finished, it was too late to go see the Jiujitsu tournament, so I headed up to LA for the twin's birthday. We ate at C&O's Trattoria in Marina del Rey which was packed beyond all belief. It's not hard to see why though, because the food was pretty good (garlic knots..mmmm), it came in unbelievably large portions, and to top it all off, it's cheap! After dinner, we headed over to their apartment to have some cake and hang out. Got Alex's intake installed, hung around, and got liquored-up hehe. Fun stuff.... happy 21st to the ambiguously gay duo!

Injury report and Richey Lam! 3-7
Today was the last class of Jujitsu, and it was probably a good thing too with all the injuries I have suffered in the last few weeks... it's about time I let my body heal from stuff like this. And no, I don't think I bruise easily. Not a good last night either because I got 3 vaccinations earlier in the day for my trip (Hep. A/B, tetanus), and both my arms were feeling really sore/non-mobile, kinda like wielding two gigantic bricks for arms.... needless to say, I didn't do any sparring tonight. And I got my Richey Lam cd today in the mail, and wow! The guy is super talented and there a bunch of good songs. I heard through the grapevine, his almost-Dawson's Creek song ("If the World Stopped") had been picked to be used in MTV's Real World (damn good song!).

Weekend of 3-2
Pretty relaxing weekend, and one of the first which I didn't really have anything to do... so I decided to catch up on two of the newer movies. First one was "Life of David Gale" on Friday which was a very interesting movie with a ton of plot twists. If you can put up with all the anti-death penalty politics, you'll love this movie (Kevin Spacey!!). On Saturday, I went to Lawry's for a "company dinner"-type thing so that was good (as usual). After that, I saw "Cradle 2 the Grave" (aka Romeo Must Die 2) with my little brother - and it was pretty much what I expected. Just don't go in expecting anything and you'll be mindlessly entertained for a few hours. Sunday had me watching Yao and the Rockets on damn Telemundo because that was the only station airing the game. Dropped my bike off for repairs cuz both the front and rear brakes were sticking. And just randomly, I now own a 2001 BMW 325ci. We couldn't sell the car for the last few months so now my mom and I are going to split the payments on it until it's paid off in a few years.... so yeah, now I get to join the "hey look, my parents spoil me" - club hehe. Damn this car, I'm already looking for parts!!!

Planned mods:
19" SSR GT-3
Install all my old car audio
Kickpanels for Orion HCCA 6s
JL stealthbox
Hamman lip kit + paint/install
M3 lip spoiler + paint/install
clear corners front/rear
Cold air intake

FS)@(*$LJFD~!!! 2-25-03
Final results: 2 large bruises/cuts on right bicep, 1 bruise on right forearm, twisted right wrist, 1 cut on left bicep, 1 scratch/bruise on neck, 1 sratch/bruise on left cheek, twisted neck, and to top it all off, semi-KICKED in the freakin' nuts by fatty's fat foot because we were fighting for position. Uggggghhhh..... body is soooo f-ed up right now... damn jujitsu!

Biking at El Prieto, and CACN 2-22-03
After missing the entire thing last time, we finally found this damn trail! It was up about 3 miles on a fire road, then down a very technical single track - complete with a ton of switchbacks - through the woods, all the way back to where we started. Actually I was amazed that we managed to make it all the way through with a ton of forks in the trail with these very informative signs . Really great trail, minus the scary parts where it runs along the edge and you only have about 18" to ride on with a pretty big drop on one side, and the mountain on the other. After biking, went back to see the annual Chinese American Culture Night which was decent... following the same ole formula of all the other culture nights, but the cast did a great job considering that they this is what they had to do when the rest of us have free time.

Night out, then suprise party for Victor 2-21-03
Had dinner at Valentinos, which was kinda dissapointing since it was just decent, but definitely nothing spectacular. But anyway, afterwards, we headed over to Victor's suprise birthday party. And DAMN, all I gotta say is Victor has some very "giving" friends. He "received" kisses from god knows how many girls, body shots taken off his chest, freaked by a mob of chicks, some of which joined him in bed later (all very non-sexual mind you ;-)). And the best part? It's all on camera! I can't wait to see his face when he sees what he couldn't remember from this night. Maybe I can post the pics later in a special "Girls Gone Wild: Victor's 21st" section or something hehe.

Brian Head, Utah 2-13 to 2-16-03
Day 1: Arrived in Brian Head around 4pm and just barely missed the incoming storm. Right after we got there, it promptly began to POUR snow (literally). The condo was in a great location, and close enough to just sled down onto the slopes. Shortly after, we began the first night skiing/sledding session in a ton of powder!
Day 2: Good, clear weather in the morning (thats Winnie), but it turned cloudy and got pretty cold later on. The runs were excellent (as usual) and it wasn't TOO crowded. We built a cool snowman , and even captured his "death" on video (too big to post online hehe).
Day 3: Us, outside on the last day. The weather was again clear early on, but got really cloudy/windy/cold later on. For whatever reason, it was almost empty and there was almost no line for the lift at all. But, we only made it partway through the day and called it quits around 2:30. Ahhhhh.... as with all great trips, it just seemed too damn short!

Mountain Biking 2-8-03
The weather was absolutely beautiful today, but we barely had any time today since we didn't get to the trail until about 4:40pm or so.... and then when we got there, we took a wrong turn and pretty much ended up on a wide, flat, boring dirt road for most of the time. Grrrr.... oh well, on the upside, I got a trail map of the San Gabriel mountains and there is a cool little trail nearby that ends at a 50 foot waterfall! I will definitely check that one out next time.

Camping at Grand Canyon 1-17-03 to 1-19-03
What a great trip! The first night we arrived, we were suprised that there was snow. Which was really cool for about 20 minutes, until the harsh reality that "snow on the ground" = "freezing inside tent", hit home. It was so damn cold (somewhere in the 20s)! On that note, the tempur-pedic people were not kidding when they said the material is temperature sensitive. Those normally super-comfortable pillows turned into bricks of death (literally)at that temperature. Too bad we didn't get a video of it, but when Allen hit it with a maglite, it didn't even make a dent in it. Then, in the midst of all the commotion, the stupid park ranger came by and warned us to shut up or get a ticket. But anyway, on to the actual grand canyon itself, AMAZING. That's the only word I can think of that even begins to describe it. Standing there, seeing it for the first time.... it's just too difficult to describe - you really have to see it with your own eyes because no words could do it justice. The pictures below can only give you a slight idea of how huge/vast/enormous the place is because the camera could only get so much at one time. We went hiking both days, and both trails we went on were very, very cool and offered some amazing views of the canyon. It was pretty freaky most of the time because the trails were very icy, narrow, and had a huge drop on one side that guaranteed death if you fell off.... ahhh gotta love the Great Outdoors!

trail of death!
and it was still cold

LCC and blasted car trouble 1-15-03
Although it started out really, really bad, the performance actually turned out very well. The first skit was just flat-out crap. They had this huge asian Gary Coleman bit that was just lame. But after that, the show got really good. As luck would have it, on the way home, I got a flat tire (a first). So I managed to make it off the fwy at about 3 mph and stupid cars giving me crap even though my hazards were on, and into a dark burger king parking lot in a not-so-nice neighborhood. Then I found out that the jack wasn't even in the car - so I had to wait for my brother to bring one.... what a headache.

Hyah! and Richey Lam 1-14-03
First day of Jiu-Jitsu, and I'm already injured (sad, I know). Damn fatty threw me into another guy who just happened to land at the exact same spot right before I got there.... and although I'm not sure how, I bruised my spine somehow. But still, the class is pretty fun, and the techniques are kinda cool as well. After class, we headed over to the Westwood Brewing Company to watch Richey Lam perform. He sounded a lot better here than he did during spring sing, and his others songs were also pretty good. Pretty good night.... but one word of warning though, do NOT eat at that place because it is pretty expensive and tastes horrible.

LA Auto Show 1-12-03
It was so frickin' crowded at the show, and that kinda killed the experience a little bit since there were so many people gathered around the more popular exhibits, but it was fun all the same. Highlight of the day was in the Aston Martin section, where I was busy staring at the cars and lost track of Winnie for the moment - but I "found" her again rather quickly and put my hand on her shoulder and said some dumb ish like "James Bond".... not realizing it was SOMEONE ELSE - who just happened to be short, asian, and had medium-length black hair! Anyway, on a brighter note, I finally got to sit in "my" Z! Other highlights were 30" rims, Maybach, Ferrari Enzo, Aston Martin Vanquish, Mitsubishi Evo, Brabus, and some others I probably forgot.

Mountain Biking 1-11-03
Only 2nd time down the trails for my new bike, and although I've been picking more speed lately, I'm still lagging behind those two psychos. Speaking of which, sneeze really outdid himself by taking to the trails with a GT interceptor (BMX bike, ONE speed). Bad news was I punctured my rear tire somehow and gotta get it replaced.

New Years Eve 12-31-02
Started off at sneeze's around 4pm, just bumming around watching tv. Then we had dinner, and afterwards headed over to tamby's party. I got to talk to lots of people from high school that I haven't seen in a long time. Aside from that, we played some dreamcast games, and I made a fool out of myself playing DDR and damn near getting a cramp in my foot. Around 11:40pm, we had to leave beause Cinderella had to be home before 12 cuz his mom threatened to turn him into a pumpking or something. So over to Brandon's we went, and watched the ball drop... then we got the real party started. Flaming Dr. Pepper's are disgusting, but I guess it did the trick, and pretty soon we were all ready for the "nature crawl" complete with a flask of orc juice (151). So there we were, stumbling around in dark - blind as bats because we kept taking pictures so our eyes could never adjust - when we ended up somewhere in between the nature center and the golf course, and came upon a gate with a security camera mounted on it. Now, I'm not sure if someone saw us on the monitor, or the workers decided to make their routine patrols at 3am, but a little while later - out of nowhere - we see a car heading towards us, driving right through the middle of the golf course! At that point, we were a bit worried about getting in trouble for trespassing and whatnot, so we ducked behind some trees and hid. After the car passed, we thought it was over... but then another showed up a few minutes later, and this time we ran for the hills. Big mistake. The place was littered with cactus-like plants and while scrambling around like monkies up there, we got thorns stuck all over and it hurt like hell. Anyway, we're chilling up on the hill trying to pull these thorns out of our skin, when a third car comes by and stops close to us...... but he leaves shortly thereafter. Whew. After that we boned out and made our way back to the main streets and hiked back to brando's house by 5am to crash. Nothing like getting stuck into some catcus bushes to sober you up, and I am STILL picking out little thorns that got stuck in my clothes.... chalk this one up as the most memorable new years ever, thanks guys.

thorns, ouch.
nature crawl

Snowboarding at Brian Head, Utah 12-26-02 to 12-29-02
This had to be one of the very best ski resorts I have been to. The runs were relatively empty, the snow was great, it was "cheap" (relatively), and best of all, the beginner and expert courses were on separate resorts making it better for everyone no matter what skill level you are. For the first time, I was actually NOT worried that some idiot was going to come down too fast and crash into me! :-D

The Grove 12-22-02
Went to check out this new shopping center and see Gangs of New York. It was soooo crowded when we arrived, they had closed off the parking lot due to lack of space. Imagine the block or irvine spectrum, but nicer, that's what this place was. There was this gigantic xmas tree, some places to shop, and the nicest movie theater I have ever been to. The lobby was literally what you would expect if you walked into a nice hotel. They even offer upgraded seats ($2.00 premium, bringing the ticket to $11.25) that are covered in leather up at the top, away from everyone else, and have in-seat refereshment service (someone bringing you food).

Snowboarding at Mountain High 12-18-02
My feet hurt. My shins hurt. My knees hurt. My entire lower body just hurts. And damn Savith, his first time going, but by the end of the day he already managed to learn everything I did in the last three times, and then some. Good first run of the season though, I can almost carve!

Lakers vs. Magic 12-15-02
Game was good, but I wish the score was closer because it just didn't have the excitement of the last game with the rockets that came down to the final basket. McGrady put on a helluva show first quarter with something like 18 points and only one miss. Too bad that back pain was bugging him because after he left, the game got pretty boring since the rest of the magic team was playing like crap and they ended up losing by 23.

Turkey Break 11-27-02 to 12-1-02
I slacked off alot, saw Bond (sooooo coool, Vanquish.... drool), went mtn biking, saw family/friends, went to some hooka place, watched tons of sports/tv, played minigolf, and ate too much.

Early Turkey Dinner 11-26-02
So much goooooood foood! Thanks to allen and huei for having us, and also to everyone else who brought food..... mashed potatoes, mac n' cheese, turkey w/ lots of butter, potato salad, muffins, cookies, stuffing, etc.... mmmmmm, I ate better that night than I did on Thanksgiving.

Eric's birthday 11-23-02
Miyagi's for dinner/drinks then we went to some party at USC where they celebrated kicking UCLA's ass - not that you can blame them. On a brighter note, crazyrandom things that I observed that night (only the more memorable ones):
-Sheryl slapping random chicks butts at Miyagi's, and while walking down Sunset
-Sheryl whistling and hitting on more random chicks/guys (more notably the 60 year old parking attendant, and the girl in front of the liquor store who got pissed off)
-both of them rolling their windows down, then sticking their limbs out and rolling the window back up to see how much it hurt
-both kissing a homosexual guy at USC and turning him bisexual
-sheryl almost jumping onto some guy's hood as he backs out, and then christy for grabbing onto the trunk for a little ride
-much much more that I probably forgot

reads like a script for an episode of Jackass to me.... but a whole lot more fun hehe.

UCLA vs. USC 11-23-02
OMG our football team sucks, FIVE TURNOVERS (is that a record?)!!! 21-7 by the end of the first quarter. Pathetic.... it wasn't just a loss, but a slaughter. Its like they killed our team, and then kicked the dead bodies, it was just THAT bad. The final score may have been 52-21, but that was because of two "pity" touchdowns UCLA scored in the fourth quarter after USC stopped caring..... ugh, we left at the end of the third when it was 45-7. And yet, somehow, it wasn't a complete waste of $30 and 2 hours getting in/out of the parking lot..... but next time, it will be!

Lakers vs. Rockets 11-17-02
It was my first trip to the Staples Center, and quite a memorable one at that. The venue was very nice on the inside, and suprisingly, even sitting at the very top section, we had a decent view of the action going on below. But the seats were a bit cramped, and it was just my luck I had to sit next to a fat retard who kept yelling out the dumbest crap that didn't even make any sense.

Mamma Mia! 11-8
I would have never thought it would be possible to base an entire musical around the songs of ABBA ("dancing queen"!), but they did it, and it was actually very good. While some of the songs didn't quite fit into the situation in which they were performed, at least they were all pretty decent. The music was loud, and all the 40-50 year old women were going crazy to "dancing queen" and some of the other more popular songs - bobbing their heads to the music and later, dancing (while standing up). Bottom line: A talented cast, a humourous script, and ABBA songs combine for the stage equivalent of a very good chick-flick.

Brian's Birthday 11-7
Dinner at Benihana's, where your majesty, [z00]golden monkey, was chilling with his harem of what, 10 girls? Bastard. Anyway, after that we went over to Shrubbs for some sober twister, toasting his ass about that one "fateful" karaoke night, and just hanging out with NO booze (suprisingly). Happy 20th car audio monkey!

Hong Kong 10-14 to 10-19
One of the best things about this trip had to be the fact that I did not have to goto/worry about school for almost an entire week. EE is killing me goddamit! Argh. Anyway, aside from the obvious, I actually had a lot of fun over there. The weather sucked, but it's all good since you really don't want to be outside too long in the humidity during what they call "the best weather of the year." During the day there was the usual nonstop shopping fest (yay....?), good eats, and family gatherings. Then at night, there was crappy horse racing, but at least there was some crazy night life. On the last night, we went bar-hopping and stopped at a club, then finished off the night at 5am with two bowls of wonton mein. You can't really ask for much more than that =)

Hiking at Alta Dena 10-5
Pretty interesting site that I just randomly found while driving towards those big mountains by my house. The scenery was so-so but managed to find an extremely steep hill that I somehow managed to climb. But then, like a stupid cat, after I got up most of the way, I was scared of getting back down.... but I did manage, using my left heel, and buttcheek as my brakes. We need to plan a backpacking/canyoneering trip!!

Camping at Lake Cachuma 9-22 to 9-24
The campsite was pretty decent considering the entire facility had about 500 campsites in total, making it a miniature little city. They had this stupid policy where you couldn't actually swim in the lake, and then they charged fees to use the pool! Besides that, the scenery was decent, and this time, we were well supplied. Allen had a nice, big, pimpin' old-school tent that was a welcome change from the last time where we slept out on the ground - and we actually had real meals that needed cooking. Some of the more notable highlights (good and bad):
-Shrubbs getting all tangled up during the hike and spraining her underlying roots.
-Princess Jenny (no explanation necessary)
-Millions of little, bastard, flies that could eat through plastic
-Destroying the evil JenRock SuperBoss with a hail of stones
-Row, row, rowed a boat
-yooooo koooooo zuna!
-psuedo showerfaucet
-Jenny getting tossed into the pool, fully dressed
-chicken fighting
-the fire monkey trying to outdo our neighbor's campfire
-loud racoons
-revolution

Florida/Key West/Miami South Beach 9-17 to 9-20
A few interesting "observations" about Florida:
1) More than half the population is 50+ (maybe exaggerated a LITTLE)
2) Damn hot. Damn humid.
3) No one is there during what I found out was the start of hurricane season. First night there, we didn't even see anyone on the beach, not one person in sight!
4) Everglades and Miami South Beach were overrated...... the first had nothing, and the second had nothing except bars.
5) Winnie REALLY likes to hold baby alligators.
6) Key West is huge, and you could easily make an entire trip dedicated to just seeing stuff around the islands.
7) Dodge Neons shake more than crack-deprived addicts above 75mph.

Magic Mountain 9-6
It was completely empty. The first ride we got on was Viper, and the time it took to walk to the front of the line was longer than the actual wait itself. Got to go on both of the new rides... X was a lot of fun, and was pretty unique in the way it twists/turns while falling. As for the other one, DejaVu, I got to sit the very front which was really cool because there's only one seat... and nothing between me, and the ground hehehe. Had tons of fun though.... and thankfully, that three tower reverse-bungee-suicide ride was closed! ::shudder::

Recent cooking/baking
Lamb Chops with a garlic/butter glaze, chinese-style Sooo tasty, too bad lamb chops aren't really all that meaty.
Linguine with white clam sauce - could've used more butter, but nooOOooo.... freakin' girls - was still good though. =)
Funnel cake - ugly lookin' w/o using a funnel... but good!
Manly meat sauce w/ Rigatoni (don't ask, that's the name) - pretty damn good.
Stuffed portabello mushrooms - could've been better, but was pretty decent for a first try.
Funnel cake - 2 thumbs up
Chocolate molten cake - 1.5 thumbs up, maybe 2 if I had actually used cream instead of milk.
Tom Cruise's Red Clam Linguine - 3 THUMBS DOWN, I had to grow an extra finger to give you even the faintest idea of how bad it was

Blog
God I never thought I would ever start one of these... but yup, this whole keeping a journal thing is kinda interesting and I'm running out of space on this subprofile, so I started a 'blogger' ::gulp:: I'll try not to turn into one of THOSE blogger weirdos hehe... for the time being, I'll just leave current stuff here on the subprofile, and archive the old stuff on the blogger thing since it's easier to access. Click here to goto the blogger.

Vegas 8-25 to 8-27
Another fling at the bi-yearly M.A.G.I.C. (Mens Apparel Garment Industry Convetion) show... was pretty much the same ole same ole. Saw about five movies, ate wayyyy too much good food, one night at gameworks, swimming, and a brisk walk around the convention. But this yeart Playboy had a booth that was close to ours (OTB). And inside..... was, in a word, goddamn! Girl modeling bikinis, playmates signing pictures, and some other more boring stuff. I wish I brought my friggin' camera, but at least I walked away with two signed photographs from the Playmates hehe

Camping @ Green Valley (near Lake Arrowhead) 8-19 to 8-20

Stuff in the trunk
NO tent
NO knives
NO grill
NO water
NO napkins/paper towels
NO shoes (George only)
6 plastic forks
6 "high quality" plastic cups
20 paper plates
large bag of salad but NO dressing
hot dogs but NO condiments and nothing to cook them with
1.75L of southern comfort
1 tub of red potato salad
1 crappy lantern
2 mini-mag flashlights

We ended up cooking the hot dogs on a clothes hanger that we FOUND in the freakin' dirt, probably left behind from the last people who were there. Don't ask how we managed to forget the above mentioned.... we either had it and didn't put it into the car, or just forgot about it althogether. But it didn't matter, we didn't forget to have tons of fun while trekking/climbing through the San Bernardino Mountains... now THAT is real camping?! ::grunt::

postMCAT party 8-17
Oh man... what a night. All I have to say is: girls kissing each other; unnamed people removed their clothing for no apparent reason; $180 spent on liquor; and I had a crazy good time. Much thanks to the atrium boys - alcohol shark/particle, twins, and army man (sorry, can't think of anything else right now hehe). Posted a few of the ummm.... suitable pictures, IM me if you want the rest ;-)

Phantom of the Opera 8-15
Good show, but it was really, really hard to follow - especially in the beginning. For the record I never COMPLETELY fell asleep, but did a few nod-offs and snapped right back up (which is more than I can say for some people... ahem). Besides, a bit of 'culture' is good every once in a while! Thanks to Winnie for taking me.

Bonfire 8-10
First time to the beach all summer... and just as luck would have it, within the first hour, disaster struck. Was out in the water, trying to catch a good wave with the boogie board... when suddenly, this enormous wave came up. So, since I was too far ahead of it, I decided to approach it diagonally (like normal) and ride over it. Now normally this would have been okay... but the stupid glasses (damn psuedo eye-infection) didn't seem to like it that much and got washed away. Then comes the interesting part, my blind-self (-750/20), looking for my stupid eyeglasses which are so dang small - in the middle of the freakin' pacific ocean. Needless to say, I didn't find them. Not only that, I couldn't find anyone after I got back to shore because I couldn't SEE. After wandering around like a lost dog for a while, I finally managed to find camp which was a huge relief. But anyway, things got better with some beach football - interesting when I couldn't see crap - and scored two touchdowns. Maybe I can join the special olympics football team...

Upgrade complete 8-8
Got the new Pentium 4 1800A up and running at a cool 2400mhz. Can probably get another few hundred mhz out of it.... hopefully anyway. Just as I thought though, no real noticeable difference over the old one hehe. Destroyed my 80gb hdd in the process and 'had' to replace it with a newer 120gb WD SE one =)

Bumper sticker of the week 8-4
As seen on the back of a 88-91 Honda Civic
"Guns don't kill people, religions do."

Tawny's birthday thingy 8-3
Went to buca di beppos for dinner and met a lot of cool new people.... had tons of fun. But to top the night off it was decided that we should go ice-blocking. For anyone who doesn't know what ice-blocking is... well, basically you goto your local supermarket and buy a 'brick' of ice, measuring about 18"x10" or so. Then you goto a nearby park/golf course/etc., and find a steep, grassy hill that is preferably wet (go after the sprinklers come on). You then proceed by going to the top, placing a towel/rug on top of the brick of ice, sit on it as best you can, lift up your feet, and attempt to balance your body on the small brick - all the while ignoring those nagging thoughts your pesky brain comes up with.... you know things like "brakes? nope. steering? nope. seat belt? nope. helmet? nope. all right, off we go!" Fly down the hill, trying not to fall off... if you get really good, you can then mix it up by going headfirst, standing, or any other crazy ish you can think up. Finally wrapped up the night with a few games of good ole n64 smash.

Recent discoveries (courtesy of the History Channel)
-During the construction of the aswan dam (nile river, in egypt), it was pointed out that many ancient egyptian temples/shrines were going to be flooded by the lake that would emerge after completion of the dam. However, various countries throughout the world actually came together to save them by cutting up these temples (don't ask how, I still don't know..) and relocating them to higher ground.
-Diesel engines use oil/fuel-injection and have no spark plugs.

Towed 7-22
Yup, it's official, I am an idiot. My car got towed away this morning because I neglected to notice that the stupid sign on Bundy says parking is only allowed saturday and sunday. At first I thought my car got jacked by some bastards... but nope, it was only the city of LA. I ended up going to pick up the car where they charged me all these ridiculous fees, including a parking ticket - $213 wasted, and to think of all the random, useless stuff I could have better spent that money on :'(

Jetskis 7-20
Holy mother of crap, jetskis/waverunners are so freakin' fun! Went for almost two hours today, and it was pretty exciting. Sad part was when I got back, the guy told me our particular model "only" ran up to 35mph.... and I doubt I ever hit that, but that thing feels crazy fast when you're bouncing up and down on all the waves. They had this other sport model that supposedly did 70mph.... insane =-O

Final Fantasy X 7-18
YEESSS!! I beat FFX after dying on the "last" guy a few times. And what is with the super-crappy final boss after the real one?? Lame! In the end, it "only" took 34 hours..... ahhh now the question is, was that 34 hours wasted? or well spent? ... the world may never know

BOAT 7-16
Project B.O.A.T. started today and I think we got most of the design issues ironed out (not that there are that many). So it's basically going to just be a box with two triangle-type things on the end for now, with two benches on the inside, and maybe some additional shelves or something. Gonna just pretty much wing it from here.... hehe... hope it turns out well =)

Insurance claim 7-15
jon, who decided to make good on his insurance 'claim' for his cellphone (said it got run over), and then actually followed through by running it over with his car.... leaving it in about 15 pieces.

Super Soakers 7-4
Me and Howie bought some super soakers at target, and can you believe they've actually designed some of them so you don't need to pump them anymore! SooOOo cool! Needless to say, my gun destroyed all that opposed it. We lit about $50 worth of loud/bright fireworks which was kinda fun.... and did a few test shots of the potato cannon. Speaking of which, the "beast" is about 15ft long, made of solid black-colored pvc, and is "deafening" to say the least - at least it's got the cannon part down. Damn Suneet for pushing me into the pool TWICE... bastard!

Beggohbee: okay so two nights ago, i'm at nickel-nickel (arcade) after hours cuz my friend's friend is the manager there, so we're just chillin' playing games and cards
Beggohbee: me and howie leave at around 1:45am, and on the way out we see some kids hanging out in the parking lot... but don't think much of it
Beggohbee: but, this is where it gets good, apparently, right after we left, the couple we saw out at the parking lot comes strolling in, reeking of vodka and the girl topless
Beggohbee: the guy asks "what do you think of my gf's tits" and they're like... wtf!! i mean they're about 15-16 years old, and so they just pretty much kick them out cuz they don't want any trouble
Beggohbee: so you think that's the end? nope. after that, as my friends are preparing to leave, they head to their cars but guess what they run into?
Beggohbee: the girl giving her boyfriend a blowjob in the middle of a goddamn in-n-out parking lot
Beggohbee: oh, and it gets better
Beggohbee: so my friends are like "wtf" (again), and decided to wait it out... while the girl and her boyfriend's "groupies" (other friends) sit and WATCH, cheering them on
Beggohbee: so some time passes, and the street sweepers come, blowing their leaf blowers getting rid of trash, blahblah in the parking lot.. and they stop and start watching. they couldn't believe what they were seeing, and it was these two mexican guys, saying random things like "what the fuck, get a room" in a very ese-like voice
Beggohbee: however, our magical couple doesn't miss a beat, and she keeps right at it
Beggohbee: and you think it ends here?
Beggohbee: nope.
Beggohbee: then my friend george starts talking about how it would be hilarious if the cops showed up and busted them. so brandon decides to give them a call... and a few minutes later, the cops show up, searching the darker parts of the parking lot... not even able to find them because they're genius asses were in the lit part. but anyway they finally find them and shines their big ass spotlights... and then they finally stop. the guy's mom ends up coming to pick him up, and the girl was released with some friend of hers

kids nowadays.... sheesh.
