Mamma Mia! 11-8
I would have never thought it would be possible to base an entire musical around the songs of ABBA ("dancing queen"!), but they did it, and it was actually very good. While some of the songs didn't quite fit into the situation in which they were performed, at least they were all pretty decent. The music was loud, and all the 40-50 year old women were going crazy to "dancing queen" and some of the other more popular songs - bobbing their heads to the music and later, dancing (while standing up). Bottom line: A talented cast, a humourous script, and ABBA songs combine for the stage equivalent of a very good chick-flick.

Brian's Birthday 11-7
Dinner at Benihana's, where your majesty, [z00]golden monkey, was chilling with his harem of what, 10 girls? Bastard. Anyway, after that we went over to Shrubbs for some sober twister, toasting his ass about that one "fateful" karaoke night, and just hanging out with NO booze (suprisingly). Happy 20th car audio monkey!

Hong Kong 10-14 to 10-19
One of the best things about this trip had to be the fact that I did not have to goto/worry about school for almost an entire week. EE is killing me goddamit! Argh. Anyway, aside from the obvious, I actually had a lot of fun over there. The weather sucked, but it's all good since you really don't want to be outside too long in the humidity during what they call "the best weather of the year." During the day there was the usual nonstop shopping fest (yay....?), good eats, and family gatherings. Then at night, there was crappy horse racing, but at least there was some crazy night life. On the last night, we went bar-hopping and stopped at a club, then finished off the night at 5am with two bowls of wonton mein. You can't really ask for much more than that =)

Hiking at Alta Dena 10-5
Pretty interesting site that I just randomly found while driving towards those big mountains by my house. The scenery was so-so but managed to find an extremely steep hill that I somehow managed to climb. But then, like a stupid cat, after I got up most of the way, I was scared of getting back down.... but I did manage, using my left heel, and buttcheek as my brakes. We need to plan a backpacking/canyoneering trip!!

Camping at Lake Cachuma 9-22 to 9-24
The campsite was pretty decent considering the entire facility had about 500 campsites in total, making it a miniature little city. They had this stupid policy where you couldn't actually swim in the lake, and then they charged fees to use the pool! Besides that, the scenery was decent, and this time, we were well supplied. Allen had a nice, big, pimpin' old-school tent that was a welcome change from the last time where we slept out on the ground - and we actually had real meals that needed cooking. Some of the more notable highlights (good and bad):
-Shrubbs getting all tangled up during the hike and spraining her underlying roots.
-Princess Jenny (no explanation necessary)
-Millions of little, bastard, flies that could eat through plastic
-Destroying the evil JenRock SuperBoss with a hail of stones
-Row, row, rowed a boat
-yooooo koooooo zuna!
-psuedo showerfaucet
-Jenny getting tossed into the pool, fully dressed
-chicken fighting
-the fire monkey trying to outdo our neighbor's campfire
-loud racoons
-revolution

Florida/Key West/Miami South Beach 9-17 to 9-20
A few interesting "observations" about Florida:
1) More than half the population is 50+ (maybe exaggerated a LITTLE)
2) Damn hot. Damn humid.
3) No one is there during what I found out was the start of hurricane season. First night there, we didn't even see anyone on the beach, not one person in sight!
4) Everglades and Miami South Beach were overrated...... the first had nothing, and the second had nothing except bars.
5) Winnie REALLY likes to hold baby alligators.
6) Key West is huge, and you could easily make an entire trip dedicated to just seeing stuff around the islands.
7) Dodge Neons shake more than crack-deprived addicts above 75mph.
8) We represented about 25% of the entire Asian population in this particular area.

Magic Mountain 9-6
It was completely empty. The first ride we got on was Viper, and the time it took to walk to the front of the line was longer than the actual wait itself. Got to go on both of the new rides... X was a lot of fun, and was pretty unique in the way it twists/turns while falling. As for the other one, DejaVu, I got to sit the very front which was really cool because there's only one seat... and nothing between me, and the ground hehehe. Had tons of fun though.... and thankfully, that three tower reverse-bungee-suicide ride was closed! ::shudder::

Recent cooking/baking
Lamb Chops with a garlic/butter glaze, chinese-style Sooo tasty, too bad lamb chops aren't really all that meaty.
Linguine with white clam sauce - could've used more butter, but nooOOooo.... freakin' girls - was still good though. =)
Funnel cake - ugly lookin' w/o using a funnel... but good!
Manly meat sauce w/ Rigatoni (don't ask, that's the name) - pretty damn good.
Stuffed portabello mushrooms - could've been better, but was pretty decent for a first try.
Funnel cake - 2 thumbs up
Chocolate molten cake - 1.5 thumbs up, maybe 2 if I had actually used cream instead of milk.
Tom Cruise's Red Clam Linguine - 3 THUMBS DOWN, I had to grow an extra finger to give you even the faintest idea of how bad it was
